The typical apple consumer will return it once they realize there's not a TV screen included.

Doesn't the xbox360 already do what this claims to do, btw? Aside from the Apple compatibility, I mean, cause..who cares about that?!

#3 Are you saying typical Apple consumers are rodeo cowboy? Yeah, I agree with that, and some research also implied that.

I once had to help someone who needed technical assistance on this POS. He got this POS turned on and was expecting pictures on his tv. I was like "Are you fuxxin kidding me?"

#4 This does display pictures on your TV and it's as advertised in fact. True there is some setup in that you have to pair this with an iTunes machine and enable the picture sharing.

I own a 360 and an AppleTV and find the v2.0 AppleTV superior in guest/family usability. Do not get me wrong, there are things about the AppleTV that frustrate me, HD size, no true 1080p picture, no NAS support and no USB HD support (without hacking).

Typical apple users have no intelligence. They have to go get Steve Jobs to go tell them how to watch TV. When will the bacon pink version of the AppleTV come out? If it does, then it will also match m0f0's pink tent and bacon pink iPod nano.

Anyone know how well this deals with photos? Every other media streamer I have tried (MediaGate, Phillips, etc) have been sorely lacking in this respect.
I'd love something HD (1080i is fine) that had thumbnails, allowed zoom, pan, and rotate, and was reasonably responsive in a 100BT network in addition to being able to serve up my DVD rips. Would this do it? Thanks!

Heh, all the impotent iHaters have joined into one massive, jealous circle jerk today! Listen up losers, the plain fact of the matter is that Apple TV will win the HD format war. FACT! *smirk*

You said that about HD-DVD before Toshiba announced it's dropping HD-DVD format. Let's not forget HD-DVD is a much robust product than anything Apple makes, and HD-DVD is of same quality as Blu-ray. If only HD-DVD is named iHD-DVD, then perhaps you have i-diots buying the format.

The AppleTV doesn't really "stream", although it can stream audio from an iTunes client running on PC/Mac (not a server). On your paired client you can manually click/drag photos or have iTunes search for files (albums or individual files). You can then choose to sync them with the ATV. Once synced photo browsing, viewing, slideshowing and even screen saver is easy and more intuitive then MediaCenter or the MediaLounge I've used in the past.
