Yes, which is not unlike cable television; you pay for the box (either via rental or as part of the cable subscription fee) and you pay for the content (the rest of the subscription fee). The differences are with cable television you only rent the box you don't own it and you get the content that you are interested in along with the content that you are not interested in. With this you can opt to get only the content that you are interested in.

Yeah, you can stream lots of stuff from the iTunes Podcast server without your computer being up.
This rocks. I can forward videos on my iPad to my apple tv. I haven't spent $1 on renting a movie or show, outside of Netflix.
