Amazon has the Archos 101 10.1" 8GB Internet Tablet for $295 with free shipping. Features an Android 2.2 OS, HD video playback, HDMI out, 10.1" 1024 x 600 display, Wireless-N, microSD slot, and USB port.
it has to be better than the archos tablet we bought at work that runs windows. i was wondering when archos would start putting a better-fitting operating system on its tablets.
Golly gee, so Consumer Reports joined the Kool-Aid sipping club, eh? Not that I ever pay any attention to what they say, since half the time it's merde.
Seems this tablet at least has all the features that Apple should have put on the ipad in the first place. And they did it at $200 less. Anyone else seeing a continuation of the "you get less than what you pay for" policy from Steve & company??
Do not even compare an Apple product to a Porsche. Maybe it could be a Pinto in a Porsche shell, but that is about the best it could be.
I do say to wait for Android 3.0 but since they are so friggin slow at getting it released and so far behind the iTampon, maybe check to see if this will be updatable to 3.0 before buying
Review on Consumer Reports on tablets trashes pretty much everything except ipad. Samsung Galaxy gets a bit of rating.
i have the 16gb.. its ok, the screen viewing angles are iffy. lags a bit, not as smooth as my samsung galaxy phone

Would be great for reading manga, only if it has a better screen with higher resolution like 720p

That's like saying 'why buy a Porsche when you can buy this Pinto for a bit less?'

It's more like asking would you buy a Pinto if a Porsche cost less?
