it took a courageous man to trek out into the wilderness alone through a treacherous snow storm to find help for his family.

I bought the Archos 500 last year and absolutely love it. I've had no problems with it thus far and the picture quality is stunning. If the 604 model is as good, I highly recommend it.

The 500 model gave you the option to sync your device with either Windows Media Player or access as a HDD. I use a combination of both; WMP for my music sync, HDD for video transfers.

      socal is an a$$hole.

Well Kim may have had access to electronics, but I wouldnt read too much into that...Ive read of cnet employees buying things from stores on their own dime so they can review it and then returning it to the store.

I bought a 40G 504 around Christmas with google checkout for around 299. I love it. However you have to buy a for plug-in to play divx and mpeg2 files. Cost around $25 with the conversion rate. It came with a crappy case. The video quality is pretty good but the audio is just too low. Better get yourself a nice IEM. Don't bother with the Bose triport IE, it barely stays in the ear and does not block out any noise.

      RIP JK

I have the 604wifi model, mostly because of the touch screen - I never use the wifi (surf on that without adfilter? No!). It does a fine job, and I loves it so much. Toss the earphones that come with it, get something better - even a $10 pair of sony's are better than the stock ones.
