7 inches...that's pretty big.
not big enough for you I'm sure
anyway, doesn't looks like this thing supports any lossless audio formats, nor does it seem to handle mkv/h.264
looks cool any body used one?
this look like a mix between the piece of crap brown zune i use to have and the itouch.
sweet!! this is a great deal on this thing. I've been waiting for it to show up on circuit city for some time now to use my $75 gift card on it.
All the reviews i've been tracking indicate that it delivers as promised. Unfortunately, some of the software is still in its early stages and firmware upgrades are being asked for to resolve some minor issues (v2 has already been released).
The most common complaint i hear is that it gets fingerprints easily and some have even reported issues with the finish altogether.
if archos gets its act together, you might potentially be able to use it as a gps too.
#5, good luck with the gift card.
thanks, i've been eager to get rid of it before they stop taking them altogether (nevermind the fact that i dislike buying stuff through them).
these are great. Lots of extras available for a price.
i like the 5" 60g one
nice, i want one or a few
Does this thing come with wifi?
i just bought a archos 5 250gb and it kicks ass
yes it does #11. It supports Flash 9 on web browsing as well
this one looks awesome. i wish i did not buy the 704 a year ago.
I want to get one but my problem is the charging through the USB deal. I don't like that. Plus, I need to sync w/ my Outlook calendar and stuff and I don't think Archos devices can do that.
hmmm, is it worth it?
What, no MPEG-2?
Anyone know what software it is running? Java based, linux based, windows based etc....?
#15 I feel the same about the USB change. I have a 504 and paid 80 for the DVR station.
#18 it runs a locked linux based OS.
A friend of mine bought a Archos 5 from B&H last week so he's pretty pissed off. It's beautiful compared to my 2 year old 504. I am still trying to decide wether to buy or not.
Got one - estimated ship date is Dec. 16. (kinda sucks considering amazon has it in stock and ready to be at your place by next Monday ...but consider -$90, not bad)
#15, if you get the docking station, you don't have to worry about that. Unfortunately it will not sync w/ outlook...yet. You could always sync it by first syncing it to your gmail google calendar and then access it that way.
I went out looking for the Creative XFi one day and someone pointed out the new Archos line - i was hooked (and that was only the Archos 5 on display). For the drive space, capabilities, and portability (of the 5), this beats most players out there.
