Nice cheap cpu cooler. I have this cooling my am2 x5200. quiet and does a good job. Works just as good as those higher price ones. It is big and will block your ram slots if you have a small board. It makes it hard for me to get at my first ram slot, but how often do you change ram anyways. Well worth the price.
I also use this cooler in my computer. It's quiet and it keeps my CPU temperature down. According to reviews, it performs very well, even when compared to more expensive coolers.
Also, since the fins are spaced out more than on other coolers, it takes far longer for dust to build up and plug it up.
This is a good price for this CPU cooler.
There are lots of other coolers with fins spaced about the same, but it does perform slightly better (same temp with lower noise) than most others at near the same price. It's as likely that less dust builds up because the open frame fan sitting a few mm away from the fins doesn't actually force as much air through the same center spot as on closed frame fans. Once enough dust builds up in a concentrated area that starts trapping more and more dust at an accelerated rate.
I had to laugh when one of the newegg reviewers claimed that the bottom fins being curved downward caused hot air to melt the video card slot.
This is a decent cooler for the price
is it for amd or intel?
#3, I also read that post and LMFAO! That's METH for ya
Oh, And for $7 more I personally would get the pop in place/twist off version of this as it's much easier to work with. more so if you're always in and out of the case. This one takes a backplate, so the motherboard will need to be removed to install it..... Or if you have access to the rear mobo on your atx case, get the cheaper of of two.
Hi CompWiz17,
I'm using the Coolermaster Hyper TX2 on my Q6600. Over all I'm happy with it, but do you think the Intel version of this cooler would do a better job at cooling and run at the same noise level or lower?
Thanks as always for the advice.

N/M, This doesn't even have the kit for LGA775. It's strictly for AMD 754, 939 and AM2 ;(
#9 -- That would be the Freezer 7.

I'm currently using the 64 Pro, a great cooler and very easy to clean as the fan just clips off. However, if you want/need something more for some real OC'n this Xigmatek HDT-S1283 provides the perfect balance of great heat transfer and silence. sure it's more; but then not as much as a Thermalright Ultra 120 (almost twice the $) and you don't get a fan for that.

I hadn't done a new build in quite some time (last one was a Socket 939 3000+), so I was surprised by it's size and a little nervous when it came to applying the pressure needed to clamp it down.
But, working great!
Side note: The heatsink base is pre-greased, so my purchase of Arctic Silver wasn't required.
Eh, not sure I like the pre-greased. How does this one cool compare to others?
actually, according to reviews, the thermal grease that comes on this cooler is very good. It's not really worth replacing it.
