I bought the Intel version of this (the Freezer 7 Pro) when it was $21 at newegg. Cools amazingly for such a cheap fansink. My 2.1GHz E6420 is running at 3.2GHz at a very cool 57C under full Orthos load after hours of running.
Anyone know if it could be used with Socket A /462 ?
I have a old machine whose heatsink is very loud.

I have this and it keeps everything nice and cool. Nice price too. Be sure to pick up some Arctic Silver compound for maximum cooling. Over-clocker friendly. Relatively quiet. A+
A) These are the pinnacle for a H/S-Fan combo at this price or any price.
B) This isn't much of a deal, but the best always command top dollar.
I had got mine a year and half ago for $15 delivered … SVC.com
Here's a review at SPCR: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article223-page1.html
They mention changing the voltage supplied to the fan to decrease the noise level. How would one typically go about changing the voltage to the fan? Is that a mobo jumper, a bios setting, or something that you change via a mobo-specific utility? Anybody know? Thanks. Well, I'm off to go try to score a McSkillet. Will check back later.
I like Arctic Cooling. From what I've experienced, they keep your system cool, calm and collected.
This heatsink doesn't really have a smooth bottom plate. For optimum heat dissipation, lap that bad boy.
I use this cooler in my computer, and it works excellently, far better than the stock AMD 64 X2 heatpipe cooler, and it's a lot quieter. Plus, since the fins are a little more spaced out than those on some other coolers, they are far less susceptible to becoming clogged with dust.
This is a great cooler, but the Cooler Master Hyper TX2 CPU coolers that have been on sale a few times recently for around $2(and even FAR once) were obviously a better deal, and they work on both AMD and Intel CPU's.
That said, those Cooler Master deals haven't come around again in the last few weeks, so those prices may not come back. The fact is, this is a great price for an excellent CPU cooler. I highly recommend it.
Arctic Cooling makes fantastic coolers usually, I love The freezer pro 7 too, I have bought six and love. E2180 oc to 3.4ghz 43/57 load. 680i MB. I had to come back and edit to say I had no idea compwiz had left a comment and he is right about the smoothness and design of the prop they rock.
here #2, you lazy ass, look at the compatibility
