eBay with Mwave has the Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound 1.5-gram syringe for $0.99 with free shipping. This review finds that it is 3-4% better than Arctic Silver 5, which has been a trusty heat sink compound for many years.
Don't put a lot of faith in that review. The guy's methods are questionable, his analysis of his data is faulty, and analyzed properly, what little data he reports is inconsistent. Other than that, it's a fine review.
#3, sometime in the next few months you should replace that RS crap with something better. Like MX4 or AS5, providing dave approves. The RS product, in my experience, tends to dry out and lose effectiveness over time.
Yeah, any silicone oil based paste separates and drys out, particularly on open flip-chip CPU/GPU/chipsets/etc, though it can take a pretty long time for that to happen on anything with a heat spreader, usually over 5 years.
I'm holding out for a free pickup sale...
