UHF only of course but actually pulls in stations decently.

Agree #2. Mine came with a converter box. I got better results from a vintage 1980's UHF/VHF/FM set of rabbit ears I found in the attic.
I found this works great... but you need to fiddle with it depending on where the channel's tower is located to get the right reception. Once pointed the right way, I get very solid reception. Using it with an Artec converter box.

#4 does it help if we move closer to the towers? Any tower?
I have one that looks exactly like this, so not sure if it's the same model. I use it with my HDTV to get over-the-air HD channels. Perfect reception and image quality, except for Fox which I think is located further. I live in a city and have tall buildings all around me, and still get good reception even though the TV towers are located in the neighboring city.
An F PLUG is an antenna? I thought it was something totally different. Looks like my swing club is in for a let down at the next meeting.
i've tried expensive amplified antennas, rabbit ears, fractal designs. nothing worked as good as this
