Isn't the same one they've had 3 times lately for $199?

Almost double but refurbs are a crapshoot, and I have a friend of a friend who hates their Aspire One.

I gave up on Acer after having an Acer CD burner, an Acer monitor, and an Acer laptop all die within a year. I can only imagine what the lifespan of a refurbed Acer would be. Go with ASUS.

This laptop does not review very well especially compared to its competitors. Add in the refurb....pass.

Definitely go for a 6 cell battery. Reviews give most 3-cell netbooks about 2.5 hrs up time where the 6-cells obviously double that to over 5 hrs. Since the whole point of a netbook is super portability go with the longer battery life so you don't have to keep plugging it in to charge.

Have one; bought it as a refurb; like it a lot. It's definitely worth the extra $20 for the six-cell battery. Unless you have really big ham hands, you should be able to type on this without much difficulty. BTW, if you are slightly mechanically handy, you can upgrade the wireless card on this to Wireless N and bump the memory up to 1.5 gigs.

BTW, I doubt the 10-inch Acer has a larger keyboard...this model is basically a nine-inch screen with a big border around it, so a 10-inch screen probably has about the same form factor.

I'm not sure about this product itself yet. Last time I ordered this exact model from CompUSA (was $199) DOA. There are already 3 users on logon screen when I first turned on. BIOS was password protected. And the machine can't stay longer than 3 mins the blue screen comes up.

I returned it the same day I've got it. Paying $10 for returning. So I lose $10 for this deal.
