Newegg has the Asus BW-12B1ST/BLK/G/AS 12x SATA Blu-ray Burner for $60 - $20 rebate [Exp 12/31] = $40 with free shipping. Features 12x Blu-ray write speed, 16x DVD write speed, and 48x CD write speed.
bought this black fri for $40 ($75 - $35 rebate), received and installed it last week. burned 5 tdk bd-r (ritek/br2) at full capacity (25 gb) and all came out fine (verified using checksums).
the after rebate price is the same as then, but good to see the original price and rebate value have gone down.
i'm curious how long this drive will last (some reviews report the drive dies between 3 and 12 months), but only time will tell.

My regular ASUS dvd drive started off great...fast & quiet. But after only 20-30 burns it has started to get noisy...just sayin'.
It's not the noisiness that would bother me, it's thejust sayin' "just sayin'" that would...
I have a couple of these drives and they seem to work OK, just frick'in sayin'...
