10.1" Super IPS+ LED-backlit Gorilla Glass display (1280x800)
Quad-Core NVIDIA Tegra 3, 32GB + ASUS cloud storage, 1GB RAM
Android 3.2 (w/upgrade to 4.0), 8MP camera, 802.11b/g/, BT 2.1
Really disappointed that Nvidia dropped the ball on the Tegra 3. It's still slower than the iPad 2 in graphics performance and now the new iPad is 4x the performance of the Tegra 3.
This should be $299 since the iPad 2 is now $399.
I just got one this week, but I had a $300 gift card I won here on Ben's so mine was pretty cheap
Got the keyboard too, like it.
#2 do you see a reason to root these things or are they open enough that there is no need?
Did they fix the wireless issues with these things yet? I was so excited for the Transformer Prime until I read about the reception problems.
Also, re: the A5X being four times faster than the Tegra 3...benchmarks or it didn't happen, Apple.
#3 I haven't played with it enough to know if it will require a root, I have read where the PS3 controller requires root for bluetooth so I might end up that way. I have'nt played with it yet so I havent check wifi, just booted to make sure it wasn't DOA.
Definitely seems like a bit of FUD on Apple's part. If they could back it up, why not show the data? I do wonder though if will they be able to benchmark the A5X at the iPAD3 resolution?
Anandtech showed that the iPad 2 has a faster GPU than the Tegra 3. I am not an Apple fan, but if the iPad 3 is running a PowerVR SGX543MP4 versus the 543MP2 in the iPad 2, then it's a good possibility that Apple isn't fudging the numbers. Here's a link to the iPad 2 GPU versus the Tegra 3 in the Transformer Prime.
