Newegg has the ASUS EN8400GS Silent/P/512M GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card for $32 - $13 rebate [Exp 3/31] = $19 with free shipping. Super silent operation due to its fanless design. [Compare]

Will this work with my Dimension 4700? It is 32-bit, but has a PCI Express 16 slot (version 1). The card pictured says 64-bit

I'm not a gamer and am looking for something to hook up to my 1080p 24" DVI and HDMI monitor. Thanks

Almost looks like it could be low-profile, but from the specs, it doesn't seem like it is.

#1 - it should work fine on your computer - the 64 bit refers to the interface between the graphics processor and the DDR2 RAM on the graphics card (not to the CSB on my motherboard), so you I think you're good to go.

#1 - Yes, as I thought Dimension 4700 where made in a full size chassis, while this GS would not be termed a low-profile (half-height) card for most Slim Line or media enclosures. Compare that GS heat-sink to what Sapphire is calls a “Low Profile Ready Video Card” and you'll see the difference.

If you want a DVI-D and HDMI connector where your can output HD audio over the HDMI cable... this is $6 more, a $10 rebate and F/S; although, as it has a dual slot heatsink that could be a concern if you have some other add-in card that can't be move down.

or this GT210 is $6 more but a $20 Rebate and another $6 for shipping, while it's equipped with a single slot fan cooler.

#1, current generation cards have more video acceleration features. Otherwise it'll work for your intended use.

I bought 2 of these so far. The first one I modded to PCIE X1 (see my InvisibleRobot web site for details of the mod I did). The second one I bought so that I could have 2 identical silent cards in that same PC, but I temporarily ended up using the second one in my new i7-860 build, and it is working very nicely with two 19" LCD monitors and Windows 7 64-bit (no gaming for me, so 3D performance is not particularly relevant, but AERO works great).
