The cumulative total reviews from amazon and newegg indicate yes, it's pretty good.

It will play anything you can throw at it (even DVD and BluRay .iso's), but the UI is primitive. There is a small community dedicated to trying to understand the box and bring a better UI to it, but right now Popcorn hour has a much better alternative UI scene.

#1 Gizmoto rates it as tied with the WD TV Live for best in class. Both have their fans and detractors.

So this will stream BD .iso's? What other players do? It will be over a wired gigabit ethernet connection.

#7 I can't speak for this one but the WD TV Live will play BD ISOs from USB drive just fine. I also tried it using an 802.11N connection but that was a bit choppy.

Thanks #8, a wire gigabit connection is the only way to get anything over 720P across smoothly. I just saw a post that this Asus is only 10/100 ethernet, so that kills it for me.

#6 as far as I can see the about to be launched D-Link Boxee is the only media player at around $200 that will play Netflix movies.
