    The term 'barebones' seems to have lost it's meaning... I thought a barebones was a case/mobo/PS and maybe a floppy drive. The builder then had the option to decide what CPU, Video, Memory etc... to 'flesh the system out'.

    This is just a computer kit.

    So you buy the kit, #13, then spend extra for good ram.

    If you want a kit, go to newegg and pick all the exact components you want (after doing some research yourself, first). Then you'll get exactly what you want and nothing extra that you don't need (like a cruddy power supply or hard drive)
