Pretty damned good router once you get dd-wrt on there. It's like a low power Linux server.

DD-WRT is crap. TomatoUSB is great with this router.

#2 Just installed dd-wrt on my RT-N12. If there are better features in TomatoUSB, I'd love to hear more. Any examples?

Great router, especially when running Tomato or dd-wrt.

I have been using dd-wrt for about 3 years now on a linksys router. Just last week I installed tomato on an asus RT-12 router and the most immediate improvement that I have noticed is that the QoS does appear to work better. So far, tomato is a keeper - but I have the other router as a spare.
I have been watching this RT-16 router for a while now but just haven't been able to part with the $$$ to get it. Both of my routers (linksys and RT-12) were purchased for under $25 and they are working fine. But I sure would like to have this router.

^ Had you tried changing the QOS settings in DD-WRT? QOS works fine on my whr-hp-g54 running DD-WRT.
