Newegg has the Asus RT-N56U Dual Band Wireless N Router for $124 - $14 off with coupon code EMCNEHH67 [Exp 5/28] = $110 with free shipping. Features simultaneous band 2.4 or 5GHz, Gigabit speed, omni-directional detecting and WAN to LAN throughput over 900Mbps.
It has great WiFi range and decent throughput. All that's really missing is a full featured fixed IP database (what's there works) and a guest WiFi network. But I think most people probably prefer the rodeo cowboy simple interface they provide. Note that it's 300Mb/s over both the 2.4ghz band and also 300Mb/s over the 5ghz band at the same time. The 900Mb/s is going from the LAN to the WAN.
Yes, it's worth the price. I've had it for about a year now, never having to unplug/reboot/anything to it. I also get some ridiculous range. I live in NYC, wait for the bus at the corner of my block and can use my cell phone on WiFi.
The best wireless / wired router I've owned.... and I've had a bunch. Wireless signal is strong even on devices that have problems.... I have an HP Touchpad.... NEVER loses wireless connectivity with this router.... it used to lose it all the time to my DLink wireless gaming....
yeah this thing is awesome. I don't comment much on BB but just my 2 cents on this, it IS indeed worth the money. I flashed Padavan to it, easy as pie. I've since downgraded my WRT160N to a wireless bridge on the network, running DDWRT
Worth the price or overrated?
