21.5" version of this won customer's choice award on Newegg. Not sure why this one had slightly lower ratings - can anyone answer that? seems like a great deal otherwise.

Humm good price, should I? It has a matte screen and VESA mount, nice easy to get buttons, and HDMI. Would rather it have a power brick but most the worst.

#1 - 85% 4-5* isn't bad, but yes 12% of 181 Eggview say they have dead pix or DOA. Interestingly of the Eggs "spilling their yolk" on this I find they predominantly fall in the time 12/10-2/11, but as of lately all seem to be saying good things.

Looks like a good deal to me due to the LED backlighting and Asus Rapid replacement program with cross shipping replacement and postage covered both ways.

I too wish more monitors came with power bricks. It seems that if you use it long enough, odds are any middle to lower cost monitor will have capacitors fail in the PSU. It's much less hassle to crack open a power brick in a vice to repair it than disassembling whole monitor to get it out, or of course you can just buy a new brick instead. Double bonus is when it's 12V input from a brick, with a basic regulation circuit in front of it those can then be powered from a car's electrical system or 12V rail from the computer PSU.
