ZipZoomFly.com has the ASUS VW246H Black 24" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor for $215 with free shipping. 1920 x 1080 resolution, 300 cd/m2 Brightness, 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1) Contrast Ratio, Built in Speakers.
how is it a "scam" it clearly says the resolution is 1920x1080, not 1200, so anyone buying it should know its FULL widescreen. looks like a good deal to me.
I have the version of the Asus above but with built in web cam. It is an excellent screen, with no dead pixels and very good color reproductiona, contrast ratio and response time. I did a lot of research before my purchase, and yes I could have spent the same or a little more for a bigger screen but everything I compared to sacrificed one of the other key features I have mentioned. YMMV.
I believe you mean the Asus VK246H, which is the same one I have. Pretty decent monitor for the price I paid back in December (~$220). Both VK246H and VW246H uses the same TN panel. Brief overview: decent colors, good response times and low input lag.
First TN panel monitor I've ever owned and is used as an auxiliary monitor. The unit I have has the typical issues with most TN panel monitors. The upper part of the screen is darker than other parts the screen. Looking left to right of the monitor has some noticeable (at least to me) color shifts. The backlight is not particulary uniform and I do notice a fair amount of backlight bleeding compared to my other monitors.
Most people probably would not complain or notice some of the defects I pointed out.
this is 24" wide but so short (vertically) that it's not even funny. 1080 vertical....so its probably about the same as a 20" non widescreen.
Man, when will these widescreen size scams end?
