Google turns up a lot of reviews on the vw266h...
These are known to be difficult to calibrate, both of mine (different batches from different etailers manufactured several months apart) had a bit of a blue tinge. I bought a huey pro to calibrate, just could not get them to match each other by eye. YMMV

I know what you mean about pesky tax, I am in WA State so 99% of the time I pass on Amazon deals...
I have the smaller brother to this unit and I absolutely love it. It looks great and I hooked my Xbox360 up to it via HDMI and it looks beautiful. Definitely a worthy investment. Wait for Black Friday to see these things drop down though, it's not that far away!
In general - HDMI is a nice connection.
Most HDMI monitors don't seem have integrated sound and speakers.
Any advice to the contrary out there?

don't hold your breath for black friday. Most black friday items are fairly substandard and are limited in numbers. I'm guessing there will be more sales on 22" monitors than any other size.
