i have owned this code reader for about 2 years now. in addition to reading trouble codes, it can read the VIN# and reset the trouble light.
note that if you do reset the trouble light right before getting an inspection your car will still fail due do low run time/mileage on the computer from the reset.
also the trouble code shown by any code reader might not indicate the exact problem, but a general problem area. an example would be a trouble code for emissions, which can be anything from a missing/loose/failing gas cap (first thing you should check) to fuel pump pressure sensor, etc.
