Yeah, you'd look really menacing with that jacket on driving one of these.

It says that the battery delivers 40 km per charge, and then farther down it says 15 miles. Now I may not be one of them thar Urpeens who uses that fancy schmancy metric system, but them there figgers just don't add up.

Sure they do. Look up the bruhaha of Tesla cars and NYtimes reporter who ended up having it towed to get to the next charging station.

In cold weather the Li On batteries don't last as much.

Mileage can vary based on speed, rider weight, temperature, etc, but I'd assume the 15 mi. figure is if steadily pedaling and going a constant (optimal) speed on a flat road with a (roughly) 150 lb rider. Reduce your mileage down from there, one review I saw claimed 10 mi is more realistic.

They now have a 3.1 version vs this 3.0, which adds a throttle, 7 speeds vs the 3 for this, and a change in battery pack voltage from 24V to 36V so the discount price probably means they're clearing out old stock.

#4: Tesla model S has been picked "Car of the Year 2012" by Motor Trend.
Tesla proved that the NYT reporter John Broder was not a very honest tester. CNN recently had a similar test and proved Tesla model S works quite well. Look it up.
