wow. a portable, swappable external case. how reliable is this thing?
seems like a waste of space, the cable version works just fine. I guess for the guy who wants to look like a geek, this will compliment his desk nicely.
Can I recharge the HD with this thing as well>?
#2.you dumb arse.your missing da point
These docking stations are great for having many different backup drives, they give better cooling than a cable version and have better protection against the drive falling off the desk. Not sure about this model though, have a different one from here a few months ago (the BlackX, works great).
#3:
Since when did you have to charge up an HD?
Anyway I've been looking at IcyDocks instead. Is this a cheaper alternative? How reliable is it?
I hate how Ben always says to slam in your hard drive into this thing, even though we continue to advise against this obviously abusive practice. Sometimes I think he doesn't stop and think before he creates his product descriptions.
HAVE A SUCKER!
SATA drive thru USB - not ESATA?
I have one of these. It's great.
I've been thinking about getting one of these just for the convenience. The price keeps on dropping too...
this is kind of pointless since there are external HD enclosures out there for less money..and they actually protect more than half of your HD haha
This is great for those with a lot of hard drives laying around and want a easy way to access them quickly.
whats the verdict on shop4tech.com? What are the odds that I get the rebate?
Thanks
does anyone know if this is a USB 2.0? How's the transfer speed?
I like the concept of this. I'm in for one.
yea, if you have tons of movies in a bunch of different HD's, I guess this is a convenient device
I'll slam my hard drive into you #18.
Looks like would help with dissipating heat. Interesting concept.
Is there some model that will work with IDE and SATA?
Is this better than the Thermaltake version?
