If you haven't played this game, you haven't lived. I'd say it will take you 30 - 40 hours to beat the main story without side missions or Riddler trophies, but has replay value and the extras add another 20 hours or so to the game play.
@guyinaz: How does it compare to the first one? Not to say I didn't enjoy the first one, but it wasn't fully of unforgettable moments, either. In fact, I was so "eh" about it that I began playing it, got maybe 10 hours into, then stopped playing it for over a year before I picked it up again to beat it. Is Arkham City bigger and better?
It's much better than the first one.
1) You have more freedom to explore, it doesn't feel so linear and the map is much larger
2) The game is more challenging - there are places in the game that takes skill to pass, expecially when you play the PLUS option (basically hard mode), which is only available when you beat the game.
3) If you liked Riddler Trophies, there are now 400 of them
4) If you are a DC comic fan, there are many appearances of classic villians like Solomon Grundy that show up
5) The Catwoman DLC (which should be free with the game) is a nice change of pace, but gets boring
6) They refined several of the gadgets so they are more useful
It's funny, when I first played Arkham Asylum, I was the same way, I put it down and came back to it 6 months later and sort of forced myself into it. Once I did that I enjoyed it and couldn't wait to try this game. I wasn't disappointed.
