If you're enjoying Planet Earth, this all-ocean series is phenomenal, too:

Says "complete collection" but doesn't say anything about how complete compete is. How many episodes? How many discs? How many minutes? "90 minutes of extra material" is all it says.

There are 11 episodes in the Planet Earth series that is currently being aired on the Discovery Channel. I wonder if the 90 minutes of extra material are the 4-5 minutes of behind the scenes that is aired at the end of each episode.

if it is the same as what discovery channel is selling end of month (and probably is), this is a 5 disc set of all 11 episodes (US is getting them 3 episodes a week). UK saw this last fall. Was made in partnership between BBC and Discovery Channel.

... I can also say that I've heard/seen some of the BBC shown episodes. It is narrated by a British male voice. I think it is better narrated than the Discovery Channel release which is narrated by Sigorny Weaver.

wft? it shows up as $35.25, not $56

also david attenborough is the apple ipod of naturalists, so obviously it goes without saying that everyone should buy it

Wait up Hi-Deffers... HD-DVD and Blu-Ray boxes of the show will also be out on 4/24 @ MSRP $99.99. Both sets are 4 discs (HD-DVD is Dual Layered 15GB discs and Bluray is single layered 25GB). No idea what the source resolution is - my set is 1080i.

Why would you pay this much money for PBS documentary crap? Isn't this show just a bunch of liberal propaganda?

#15 - that is exactly why I always set my tv to the world-class intellectuals at Fox - they really have excellent logic.
BTW, do not take this comment seriously.

Why would I buy the burp BBC version and listen to those stupid british burp? I burp hatre british accents and burp those ugly british people. Their food is bad, their teeth is bad, their weather is bad, and the burp bitches are ugly as burp. There's burp nothing good that comes out of England, so burp them and their Planet Earth. I have the DiscoveryHD versions on my DVR already, so burp off bitches.
