It uses some low-level tricks in the draft-N protocol to embed USB protocol over wireless connections, then this "hub" connects to the downstream devices, so your laptop can use them from afar, assuming your laptop has a draft-N wireless adapter in it.
It's better than most USB-over-ethernet device servers, because it at least attempts to handle isochronous transfers, meaning that webcams and audio devices might work with it. They flat out DO NOT WORK with other device servers (g Keyspan and Silex).
I've never played with one, that's just from the research I've done.
