3550 joule rating, better than APC.

$200,000 connected equipment warranty is... just a marketing tactic.

    i like this one better:
    http://shop3.frys.com/product/5179776?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

more outlets- i got this one and i am able to plug all my little chargers into it cuz some are sideways, some are upways, and some are just huge, but this one fits all those combinations, plus it has the landing strip down the middle for all the regular size plugs

I'd go for Panamax or Furman or APC any day. Joules are not everything.

If you have COSTCO nearby they have Philips (more outlets, more protection)
Best you get 2 for similar price in a package.

I have been using computers for 13 years without a surge suppressor and never had a problem. Do you use them on your TV or refrigerator? No. Have you ever had your refrigerator or TV die because you didn't use one? No. Don't buy into this crap.

#12, my parent's tv had it's sound blown out pre-maturely due to a power surge (several years ago). I'm surprised the tube still worked. Basically, that cost a little of money bit to fix - though it was never the same.

Regardless, I think a $16 investment is warranted for piece of mind. It's like renters insurance or car insurance. Many people may never need them. But for some people they'll be glad they have it.
