Do they still make a 7 volt drill? I'd pass!

This is a great little drill/driver. It is only 7v but it gets the job done, the torque is amazing, worth the purchase...

Pretty small, even if it could generate a lot of torque it wouldn't be good to make use of that torque because it's size makes it harder to control.

Bit insane though, that they price it so much higher considering the battery and charger are separate, when moving from NiCd to Li-Ion doesn't cost extra to manufacture when you move to fewer, still only moderate capacity Li-Ion packs, and although it's lighter you won't have the pack last several years like a decent NiCd pack that's charged with a proper regulated charger can.

It's difficult to understand how B&D could make such a huge marketing error, but this is a failed product line. At the end of its market life I bought a LOT of VPX items, including a dozen batteries (most were shipped free by B&D as their death cycle promotion).

VPX items are functionally terrific, so I assume it was B&D's marketing that killed the project.

Nevertheless, this specific offer - a drill for $25 with no battery or charger - is terrible. At one time I bought the handy 7V drill for $14 at Wallmart, then got a charger and battery shipped free.
