nor do the protectors, the Storm has a scratch free glass screen. No protector is needed. unless you want the mirror effect to look at yourself.

Ghetta: I bought the Storm on launch day. I enjoy the phone overall but it is somewhat buggy(vid cam freezes randomly during recording). I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones though as many more issues have been reported. The bugs aside, you also have possible hardware issues where the screen does not click in all areas evenly. There is a hack to fix this which involves unscrewing a couple screws under the battery. It's basically a crapshoot at this point, there are some good phones floating around and there also some POS ones. I would probably recommend waiting a few more months before jumping on this bandwagon...

And a final note if you're coming from another Blackberry, chances are you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. I came from a pocket pc phone so it hasn't bothered me. Even with all the bugs this thing runs way smoother than my old Samsung i730 shitbox.

I've been pretty happy with my Storm. The only thing is getting it to vibrate for messages. It's set to but it ignores the settings. Everything else works pretty well.

    BLT5000:

Get the new .75 firmware update. It fixes a bunch of bugs and speeds things up considerably.

Chauncey: I did. Believe me I tried every firmware including the leaked ones. The vid cam freeze followed me across all firmwares. If you haven't noticed it, try taking about 4 vids in a row. I would venture to say the same thing will happen to you...

I'm pretty happy with my storm. It was pretty buggy, would randomly hang, but after the firmware update to .75, all was much better.
It's great for the media capabilities, web browsing, etc -- the screen and features are great. However, if you're a heavy emailer, I would stick with the Curve, 8830, etc. Typing long emails on a touch screen (with the clicking) is less perfect and takes longer.
#8, BB's always have a stupid vibration feature--instead of vibrating and ringing at the same time, it vibrates for a while and then rings...so about the time you hear the phone, it's going to voicemail. I went to crackberry .com though, and found a cheap app that makes it do both simultaneously (and lets you adjust the vibration pattern and duration). Well worth the money.

Noob question - Does your carrier push firmware updates or do users have to locate and download themselves?

I got the upgrade through the BB Desktop software when I connected it up. I think they can do over the air, but you have to seek the upgrade--it isn't automatic.
