my 9850 has had problems turning itself into a brick. I am on my 2nd warranty replacement of the hardware, but I am sure it is a software problem. I have Battery Watch and the unit just decides to nosedive in battery use in an otherwise dormant state at 20%/hr discharge rate (full to dead in 5 hrs!). There is a way to trick it back to life, but the problem once it revisits the unit it keeps coming back!
