Amazon has the Blendtec Home The Professional's Choice Total Blender for $333 with free shipping. Commercial quality 1560W blender features a 3HP direct-drive motor, preprogrammed blending cycles, stainless-steel blade, and a 2-quart blending jar.
Usually runs $400. If you don't know why its $400 and a regular blender is $40, you don't need it. Its like wondering why a Ferrari cost more than a Kia. If you going to use it to drive to the corner it seems too much. If you using it to race its a no brainer.
The comparison to a Ferrari is valid since a Corvette sold at a quarter the price will whip it (comparing 200k Ferrarri with 50k Corvette). My KitchenAid blender turns ice into a smoothie in seconds. This thing may be strong enough to chop wood, but food preparation doesn't require that kind of strength. There is nothing related to food or beverages that the KitchenAid can't do that this overpriced thing can. Just admit that you are buying it because of Letterman, which makes you a tool.
At 1560 watts this would produce 2 horsepower tops, deception is an ugly thing. Maybe it should be noted that this is rated in internet horsepower, like age, weight, and genital size is measured differently on the internet.
Checked at 10:45 PST, price was 332.74 or something. Clicked again right now, and is now 369.99, from same seller ( ie didn't appear to run out of stock and switch to a different seller). Price mistake perhaps?
Will it blend ?
Methinks thirty three...unless jewel encrusted and gold inlay....ti's eventually dust in the wind

I have one.. One of the best investments I've made. The VitaMix is also good, but think of this as driving an automatic and the Vitamix a manual
Our blender is about 30 years old and cost $12. It still does everything most people need a blender to do and does them very well.
This is a great deal. I use my Blendtec every day to may smoothies for lunch. I blend rockhard frozen fruit up to the brim with no problems.
I bought a Blendtec blender for $300 so I could tell everyone I bought a blender for $300.

So if a ferrari is compensation for a guy with a small package, and women use blenders... What are women compensating for?

Aaaaand.... make that $399 now.
Ferrari or Kia, I still get a ticket for going over the speed limit so why buy a Ferrari?
And you get a bullet proof container...
Is this the brand that the mob recommends for disposing of bodies?
How many watts does it take to chop ice?
Let's see.. force X rpm / resistance = whatever
Anyway, That's one pricey frozen margarita.
