I had something like this that didn't use pen or paper when I was in school in the 1800s. Today I've replaced my chalk board with a white board with markers. I guess there is a slight bit of waste with it given the marker ink, but I don't think it is more wasteful than this thing.
I read about this twice and have yet to see a single way in which it remotely approaches the utility of a plain paper notepad. Even a battery operated pencil would be more useful.
A handheld chalk board would provide the same benefit at a faction of the price.
If the damned thing had an interface to store, retrieve and upload pages then it might be worth something.
