That's at least 7 month gym membership and all you get is a pair of dumbbells.

Save the money you'd spend on the membership and buy these + p90x (http://www.beachbody.com/p90x/p90xdotcom/) I only suggest it because I've used it - and it works.

Looks to me like they are using dumbbells with the P90x videos. Tony, the dude that hosts the P90 videos gets fairly annoying after awhile.

Anyway, I've used the original P90, and also bought SelectTech 552 (for about $100 less with the stand. The P90 videos required me to change weights every other minute for the different exercise routines. With standard dumbbell collars this took way too long. The SelecTech were fast and efficient weight changes. Of course you could also just invest in a complete set of hex weights.

If you're doing P90 or P90X, I recommend the resistance bands over the dumbbells. They're cheaper, take up less space, are give you just as good of a workout.

I used Power Blocks with P90X, and was able to change the weights quickly enough to keep up with the routines. The Bowflex system requires you to adjust the weight on each side of each dumbell, while the Power Blocks only have a single pin on each.

I found resistance bands difficult to use, and could never really push myself until I got the weights.

#5, these are expensive because the alternative is to buy individual dumbells at each weight increment, and that would cost even more. All about marketing...

#9 and #10 yes, Powerblocks are a competitor to these Bowflex'es. I won't post the link, but I'm sure you can google them pretty easily. There are several different models with various weight maximums, which gets pretty confusing. The ones I bought have a max of 45lb per hand and cost around $300 for the pair. From reviews I've read, the build quality was better than that of the bowflex.

#4 I agree, the host gets a little annoying. He seems to like flexing his muscles way too much. At least they have a mute option, and the chicks in the videos are easy on the eyes.

It's as satisfying to me as, uh, coming is, you know? As, ah, having sex with a woman and coming. And so can you believe how much I am in heaven? I am like, uh, getting the feeling of coming in a gym, I'm getting the feeling of coming at home, I'm getting the feeling of coming backstage when I pump up, when I pose in front of 5,000 people, I get the same feeling, so I am coming day and night. I mean, it's terrific. Right? So you know, I am in heaven.

I agree with #8. I use P90x with power blocks too.
P90x is awesome. It works so much better than any gym membership.

These dumbbells are really for pus$ies. I curl 65 lbs in each hand.

Holy cow, if you are using powerbands, you should really just loop a couple together and kill yourself now, man. No self respecting woman would ever go out with a guy who uses powerbands.

Gym memberships are cool. It is a great place to pick up hot chicks. Some are dumb, but that is fine with me!

I wouldn't call any person who trains with 52.5 lbs dumbbells a pus$y. People train with this kind of weights should be much fitter than most of the people in the society.

Besides, dumbbells are not just for curls. I don't think you can do a straight-arm shoulder fly with 52.5 lbs dumbbells.

This link takes you to the dumbbells, but the price seems to be for the db's alone - does not seem to include the stand?

The P90x guy....."Hey I'm 45 and I'm hot" "You guys wanna be like me right" What a douch? I have to listen to him every morning while my wife works out.

These Boxflex dumbells are nice though. I've used them and they're handy. The "Powerblock" weights are probably more durable though.
