About 10 every morning, our Road Runner goes out for a coffee break. Speeds with Turbo go from 18MB down to 2. No reason. Maybe the coffee needs more caf.
Introductory offers like the one from Comcast are for suckers, unless you were planning on getting it anyway. The $42.95 does not include other various fees/charges.
the cashback requires phone service. they should get sued for that, because their website is very ambiguous.
i signed up for just DSL, and they told me i don't qualify because i didn't sign up for phone service as well
I got the $34.95 roadrunner deal two months ago. No problems. The company also included "limited basic cable" for free. Since the TV part is listed as no charge on the invoice, there are no taxes or fees. That's unusual these days...
i m just sticking with at&t basic plan... i hate introductory price because it is too much headache to try to change it to a different service once it is almost expired.
the verizon link only offered me 1.5 mbps DSL for $30 per month. Not a deal!
never had any problems changing plans once an introductory rate is almost expired (with verizon, time warner, comcast, charter, or at&t).
have to vouch for AT&T U-verse if it's available in your area. Consistent 8+ mbps downloads on the 10mbps plan, U-200 TV with more HD channels than I got with other cable companies (e missing things like MTV, Food Network, Bravo, etc in HD). DVR records 2 HD shows and 2 SD shows at a time, plus you can watch part of a show in one room and resume from the same point in another. Price is probably more than with cable, but I managed to get a total of $250 cash back ($200 in checks + $50 visa gift card) which over a year cuts my bill by about $20 a month.
Only wish HD TiVo would work with it... had to sell mine.
FIOS is not available everywhere ...but have check the network connection at friends place, its pretty fast...the FIOS TV has alot of HD channels too
Don't trust Comcast and these special deals. The deals are from third party vendors that never seem to communicate properly with Comcast. I have been reading posts from people who have claimed that Comcast is delaying the billing of their internet service and causing people to get screwed out of their rebates. The paperwork needed arrives late and then gets rejected! I have also read the big $100+ rebates are actually vouchers that can only be used to pay for Comcast service, no cash!
I have Comcast service right now and it sucks. Every other day I get about a 20 to 60 minute service cutoff or a severe slowdown. As soon as my special deal is over I am going right back to DSL!
