I concur. Comcast is ridiculous. If I had no kids i'd tell them to go burp themselves. I can't get satellite where I'm located.

Ben must not get kickbacks from Charter. I've had them for almost 8 years, great service (I prefer great service over great prices). Just added telephone about a month ago. Their prices go up about $5 every year so in the next year or two I might be checking out alternatives.

I have also had ATT DSL for my work connection for about 4 years and had no issues with it either.

Verizon DSL work OK. Just make sure U don't need to call their customer service. They put many things to annoy their customer to not call them.

Get even with comcast! take them up on the $20/month for 6 months. Get the $100 rebates. get the free modem. You will also need to get some sort of tv package ($10) or they charge another $10. It will cost you $180 (6 x $30/month) but you get the $100 rebate and a modem to sell ($30 ebay) when you quit at the end of the 6th month. go back to a $6/month frys ISP for 3 months and then start the comcast offer deal ( they have been doing this for years now) all over again. Comcast requires you to be in good standing (paid up) for 90 days before you are eligable to do it again. I spent over a hour talking to different retention spebaconts explaining I would be happy to continue paying $20/month, but only a fool would pay $54 ($42.90 regular price plus the $10 tv), when you could pay about $50 for six months! they just don't get it there.. Its like they are used car salesmen or some thing..

I am still waiting for FIOS to become available in my area. Also AT&T has a new 10mb/1.5mb service called "Max" for $55mo but they FORCE you to buy one of their TV Programing packages in order for you to get it. Max is not sold separately as far as I know at this present time. Please let me know when it becomes available. Thanks

I contacted comcast, since I am a current subscriber for tv and Internet.

This offer is from a 3rd-party, and when I called the the third-party (comcastoffers), they said "Oh, that's an old offer - not current, no good"

I talked to the Comcast Customer Service VP's office, and they deny any commitment to this ad. As an existing subscriber, I can only partake in current package deal offers - IP, tv and phone, for example.

To make the long story longer, this is not an offer that you should expect to be honoured.

I tried to explain to comcast how poor this made them look (new customers worth more than existing ones, etc), and they agreed, lol.

I'd be interested if a new customer can actually get this offer upon signing-up - I'll bet not.

I just signed up for verizon Fios extreme hd package (triple play) and received $150 cash back. The guy I worked with was really nice and he said that he gives this offer nationally.
