I have the ATT 3.0mbps, paying $15/mo with no contract. So much for Ben's so-called bargains. Forget clicking, call ATT and ask for a price- less 4 ben, more 4 u.

Thanks #2, What part of the country are in at? I'm in North Cal. Wonder if I can get the same deal here. I wouldn't even mind $19 for 1.5Mbps. At these times, they better give me discount. They actually raised the price 2 months ago.

I don't know about other parts of the country, or where Ben got his figures for Verizon, but I have the pink copy of an install order that shows for FIOS in Florida is $44.99 for 10/2 and $54.99 for 20/5 for the first 12 months. You only get 15 days free to try the service, but you still pay a $35.00 install charge. You also pay an extra $5 per month if you don't take Verizon FIOS phone service, which is a deal breaker for me.

I'm getting 7 Mbps down from Brighthouse for $41.99, which is where I'll stay.

ATT by law must offer this for new DSL users for one year. It was always buried pretty deep into their site, but I see it on the right hand side of the general ATT internet bundles and availabilty page. I'm not sure if other DSL providers have to provide the same deal or not. So if you never had DSL and you're a AT&T customer (or even if your not and need a land line)this is fast enough for most users needs. It used to be 768/256 (might be 1.5M now). Not speedy but not dial up slow either.

AT&T and Verizon both claim to not offer service to my house probably because I don't have an active dry copper pair at this time even though I have had DSL in the past. I may have to call about the RR deal since they have recently upped their rates again that deal would be worth $200 to me.
