B&H Photo Video has the Brother HL-2240D Compact Laser Printer with Duplex for $62 with free shipping. Features two-sided duplex printing, 250 sheet tray capacity, 2400x600 dpi max print resolution, and measures 36.8" x 36" x 18.3".
Brother printers will tell you the toner is out and stop printing way before the toner is actually out. Stick a small square of cardboard over the sensor to fool the printer into working until the toner really runs out, hundreds of pages later. The following link refers to other models, but this has been true of every single Brother printer I have worked on in the past several years. See: http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/39806
^ Why bother #1? Just order some bulk toner and fill it up. That's the great thing about brother printers, you can do that once you're using a regular cartridge instead of the starter cartridge. Bulk toner is about $5 delivered on ebay (cheaper if you buy multiples).
