great printer but it wakes up by itself and spins its motors for no purpose occasionally so I wouldn't put it in my bedroom. toner lasts long and is cheap - about 70 for 5000x cartridge
Great printer. This costs a little more because it has built-in duplexing and is network ready. I've got mine on the wireless router so my wife and I can also print to it from our notebooks. Pop in a PC-133 SODIMM (notebook memory) to crank up the RAM on it. I've never had a problem with it and mine doesn't "spins its motors for no purpose occasionally". My only complaint is even though it has page scaling and duplexing, you can't do both of them at the same time. It can do N-Up and duplex at the same time though.
I use my HL-5250DN from MacOS X and I certainly can scale a page *and* print duplex at the same time.
Mine doesn't "spin its motors" anytime between uses.
3rd party toner refills are under $20 and seem to work great but smells a lot different.
"Prints" envelopes if you don't mind wrinkles.
