Staples has the refurbished Brother MFC-7860DW MFC / All-In-One Monochrome Wireless 802.11b/g Laser Printer for $150 - $15 off with coupon code 51648 - $50 rebate = $85 with free shipping. Features printer, scanner, copier, fax, and PC-Fax functions, duplex printing, wireless networking, and up to 27 ppm print speed. Normally $180 to $200 new.
These are really good little home all-in-on laser printers. The included teaser toner cartridge is only good for about 500 pages but they sell factory 1200 and 2600 pages cartridges or you can get cheap 3rd party cartridges. The separate drum is good for roughly 12,000 pages.
^^ I think there may be a gear that comes with some DIY kits that you'd need buy once. I have a different model of brother but mine has no drum wearout issues yet. When it comes to drums that is one thing I'd buy as an OEM/official Brother part as some generics are lower quality... some don't even give as high a page count from any particular toner.

You can also DIY refill them with bulk toner for about $5 delivered (eBay).
Yes you can refill the cartridges but there is more to it. Brother includes a physical counter on the side of cartridge that will need to be reset.
I didn't have luck with it. Besides what seemed to be manufacturer defects with some of the mechanical parts, they kept burning drums fairly quickly.

reports as out of stock and doesn't seem to be orderable.
$85 is still too much.
$85 is a great price for an AIO. That's barely more than an equivalent scanner alone.
