Takes 6 AAA's, no thanks.
#1: At least it doesn't use watch batteries.
Just buy a set of 8 Ni-MH rechargeable AAA batteries with a charger, and you're set.
If you will use one, these are a bargain at $10. #2 is right. And from my experience, a good set of AAA batteries (Duracell, etc) will last for a long time (several label tape cassettes) in this model. Also can use a wall wart adapter.
This works well, but wastes a bit of label tape each print. Best best is to run a bunch of jobs at once, placing a few spaces (5 is good) between words that you plan on cutting apart. You can save quite a bit of tape that way.
