burp Buck.
Ok on airplanes?
Show us something better for $26 #1... I'm not saying there isn't anything but bang:buck with Buck is fairly good, just expect to be resharpening it on a regular basis.
I use mine to cut bacon.
Bacon. Yes bacon. Lots of bacon. Can I stab someone with this?
Ben seems to have a growing interest in knives.
when you say BACON, do you really mean a small child?
Rarely have I been cutting something and needed a bottle opener at the same time, but what the hell, I'm in...
Buck makes very good stuff. i own some of their knives dating back 25+ years. And, have never been disappointed or had to return even one.
#3, I am going to vote for a gerber LST as most bang for the buck for 12-16 (depending on size). one nice thing about smaller knives is that they are easier to carry and might be able to keep them through security(other than at airports)
Good luck with that, you know those little swiss army knife knockoffs that you put on your key ring? they confiscated one of those from me at the airport. I forgot it was on my keyring. They took it
Blade under 3" is legal pocket knife.
420HC steel is soft for a knife. I prefer 440B or C and AUS8 steel.
Buck has a very good heat treating process, their 420HC is comparable to 440x... but as always you won't get their best blade on their Chinese made lowest-end knives.
Bucks from a couple decades ago were higher quality than they are now, especially in the plastic and composite handled knives. Now the weight-weenies have whined enough that they are trying to made a handle lighter rather than sturdier, nevermind if doing so even negatively effects the balance of the knife.
Regardless, they are still a clear step above the typical generics out there.
perfect for mugging.
"That's not a knife..."
