The year is 1987, and NASA launches the last of America's deep space probes. In a freak mishap, Ranger 3 and its pilot, Captain William "Buck" Rogers, are blown out of their trajectory into an orbit which freezes his life support systems, and returns Buck Rogers to Earth... 500 years later.

While you're at it, why not buy The Lone Ranger series?
Nostalgia is a powerful marketing tool, selling old stuff to people that they don't need, based upon their fond old memories.

Never go back. Re-living something good from your past never fails to disappoint.

The super-duper bowl was selling nostalgia big time with The Who during the half-time show.
A band of geriatrics prancing around on the stage churning out the old hits, pretending to still be cool.
They were cool. They certainly aren't now.
Why not use a recent "star" instead of a faded star?
It's not as if there are a shortage of "stars".
The Who even made Janet Jackson's nipple seem vaguely interesting.
    Put Lady Gaga on.
She isn't that great musically, but she does put on a good show.
I'm scared they will dig up Frank Sinatra and animate him for the next super bowl.

^^^ I mostly agree with you, but you're forgetting that many use those old happy memories as an escape from the chaos we live in now.

Butler from Hart to Hart? Sorry, but that annoying-as-heck robot was voiced by none other than Bugs Bunny himself - Mel Blanc.

The Who rocks, even in their geriatric years. Didnt you hear the crown singing along with the lyrics?? That shows how popular and timeless their rock is. I would NOT want to hear "Poker Face" at halftime of the Super Bowl.

#11: Please reference lyrics from "My Generation" that made The Who famous:

    1. I hope I die before I get old
Looks like their hopes went unfulfilled.

    2. Why don't you all f-fade away
The above line refers to older people.
While I'm glad members of The Who didn't die before they get old, I would appreciate it if they followed their own sentiment and faded away gracefully (off the stage at least).

The Who really don't rock any more - unless you only listen to "golden oldies". In which case, you would say their music is "timeless" because you are stuck in a time gone by.
Pete Townshend wore a hat to hide the fact that he's bald as a coot. They didn't play "My Generation" because it would be embarrassing to rail against themselves (older people).

The chaos we live in now? The Who were popular in the Vietnam era. IMO that was even more chaotic than now.
