holy crap, anyone know if this is any good? i have tons of old ide hdd's with old data on them.
There was a similar kit that was being sold by Eforcity for only $9. free ship
yes #1, these USB to harddrive adaptors work well and are just the thing to temporarily hook up an old hard drive.
Check the reviews before buying.
I bought Eforcity adapter for $11 and it works pretty well with IDE and SATA up to 500 GB.
I've had very mixed experience with a couple of these adapters. Definitely not for long term use.
Good, IF you get it to work, as a one shot deal. don't use it for typical reading and writing - pull data off old hard drive and that's it.
Don't expect it to work on just any old drive. Different brand adapters have only worked on select HD brands
