Beware ... I bought this a few months ago and it froze up my computer completely (100% processor utilization). I had to do a complete XP reinstall - Thanks, CA!!!

I also got this for free. I used it, and it worked fine. They also did a recent big update to it, that improved it.

I do of course encourage everyone to look up reviews before deciding to get one. There are a few that have been available for free recently. If you don't like this one.

      A freeware alternative would be

      zone alarm

      avast!

      ad-aware

      spybot search and destroy

      TDS 3

All free downloads and very effective together

      Good information can be found

      here

      and here

Here's what I know, had the CA Security Suite 2006 and that was actually not that bad (had norton before) then CA came in with a upgrade offer to 2007, until the subscription ran out in July. I took the bait and in someways I'm glad I did, this “new and improved version” was a royal pain. Nothing in the same place as 2006, much more intrusive, hogged more resources and always having JavaScript errors opening some pic's in web pages. I was always searching why this was no longer working correct, why this didn't want to play fair with that. I don't have any recommendations, I had gotten a one free one-year subscription for OneCare so I'm trying out a Trial version right now, we'll see on that.
