why anyone would spend a single cent on this is beyond me
When last I messed with it, last year in the good ole free year trial days, it was basically a rebranded version of McAfee's scanner. As such it did a reasonable job. But you are correct, I would not buy, nor advise anyone to buy, this one.
For home single machine use, Avast is hard to beat.
