I thought this was a great deal until I noticed the word Refurbished. No deals on refurbished items for me.

I bought a Canon refurbished XT a while back and it has been working flawlessly for me. I think Canon has a very high standard for their refurbished cameras. The body looks brand new and all the accessories are also new. The only thing you get is a generic white box without the Canon branding.

It's amazing how much DSLR prices have fallen. I wish it were the same for the lenses Smile

I've had my refurbished Rebel XT over a year now and I have never had a problem with it. I've taken it around the country and overseas in all kinds of conditions and my refurbished Rebel XT has never let me down. Canon makes good cameras and it looks like they ensure their refurbished products continue to meet their high standards.

Refurb is fine, Adorama refurbs are not.

Just because you have had good luck with a refurb camera does not mean it's a good idea to purchase one. Some people will most likely have problems with it. Spend the extra 80-100 bucks and get a new one. If you love photography it's worth it.

Save money with a refurb and use the savings towards a nice lens.

Having the choice between cheap lenses or cheap DSLR bodies, I would take the cheap/refurb DSLR body. The thing only has a shelf life of a couple of years or three. The good lenses you buy with the money you saved will last much longer.

Some refurbs really suck. However I have found Nikon factory refurbs are excellent .... have two lenses that are no different from brand new.

I would imagine Canon refurbs are equally good.

But this is simple, if you dont trust it, dont buy it.
