Do the lenses for standard SLR's fit on Digital SLR's?

#6 It depends on how old your 35mm camera is. I have a 5 year old Canon 35mm whose lens will fit on this camera.

Some lenses do, some don't, and some do but not with all the lens' features working. The first thing you may want to look at is the type of mounting system, rather than the age.

Jesus! I remember people freaking out a year ago when these things dropped under $1k. I think that deal included at least one lense though.

Taxes really kills the deal. I used to buy a lot of PCs for my office from Dell, ever since they started charging sales taxes, I switched to HP.

#2, I know the rebel XTs are "soon to be". Some stores, like circtuit city arent going to carry them. I dont know about the XTi. I heard the XTi isnt much better than the XT, I bought the XT and am very happy with it.

oh, also I would jsut look for a good package that comes with a lens, the standard ones taht came wiht my XT is really good. I found a really cheap package at Vanns.com.

If you are willing to fork over a little more money and you want a really god camera look into the Nikon D80.

Refurbs but not listed as refurbs. That in itself is shady... Temting but may come back to bite me in the ass just after 90 days.

Not sure how it can be a refub if it's not listed as such. Dell's too big to do that type of bait and switch.

As far as lenses, and EOS lens will work (in my experience) except or some very early non-oem lenses (Quantaray, promaster, etc.). Otherwise they all work. Flashes on the other hand are different. The newer Canon flash has some interface advantages with the Digital models, but even the older ones (EZ) work just don't take advantage of some newer exposure features.

I don't know where you get an information(refurb). When I talked to Expecam, he said "Brand new with 1 year warranty". Maybe package deals are different from body only.

#10,#12,#13 - These guys are yet another shady internet camera company. http://www.resellerratings.com/store/USA_Photo_Nation

I've had a run-in with a similar store who provided links to a ratings site (that they created and populated full of 'good reviews') and in calling them spoke with the most unprofessional salesman who essentially harassed me and asked why I was calling asking about prices about 4 times until I gave up.

Moral of the story: If the price looks too good to be true on a camera, it probably is. It's better to deal with the big guys or buy something in person. At least you'll have a clue where you're money is going.
