It makes sense to have a Canon when you want to shoot something.
Have you ever tried to shoot something with a Leica? Just doesn't sound right.
My 70-200 Can(n)on is bigger than this Canon. If you think you have a hard time shooting with a Leica, try shooting with a Hasselblad, Mamiya, or Konica Minolta. Try saying all those 3x in one single breath.
This is a great all purpose lens ( unless you need F2.
. Optical excellent- great for FF camera. However if you use APS-C camera - 24mm might not wide enough. But if you have Tokina 12-24mm ( or something like EF-S 10-22/3.5-4.5) it can still be great for you to cover most of the area.
To me- it's one of the best lens...
like everyone said here, terrific lens (perfect focal range on the full frame 5D series), and a great value for an L. but look for some cheaper primes for low light situations
