I have one, and it gets used more often than my significantly more expensive super telephoto zoom, not because it is a better lens (dream on!) but because it is so small and light, I don't bother removing it from my camera bag.
#1's comments (straight from Adorama) is pretty much what I think about this lens. If you occasionally need a telephoto for close-ups, this is a great value.

Go for it, #4. You *will not* regret it. Between L glass and the extra light f/2.8 gives, if you're serious it's a no-brainer.
bought it on ebay for this price -NEW
well so much for selling it on ebay then...
A $200 IS lens. Take it. You can beat this lens up with no regrets.
