I saw some pro photographers use 32mp camera for model shoot. There are some new high end digital cameras from Canon coming out. Time to move the going-to-be-outdated camera out and make room for new ones.
I purchased my 5DMII from BestBuy and got a pretty sweet deal by doing the following:
1. Sign up for rewards program (free) 2. Get 10% off coupon via rewards program 3. Get 3x points coupon on your birthday 4. Use BestBuy Credit Card to double whatever points you would normally get (6x points) 5. Wait until in stock in-store
When you finally purchase, you offset taxes and then some with the coupon + get a generous amount of points (enough to buy some CF cards or something) + you're elevated to premier silver status (more points per $ = more rewards certificates) AND you get a pretty sweet camera.
this 'full frame' camera is worth every penny, but it doesn't hurt to squeeze out a few extra perks!
If you don't care about shooting with "available light" with low noise and you don't know care about the depth of field large sensor inherit, you should save your money for something better for your life.
metallist, 21mpx makes it possible to crop and still produce posters. But you are right, not needed for the average "check-in" shot. You can use your camera phone for that.
h0tsauce, this is not a semi-pro camera. It's a pro camera. Obama's official photographer uses this. Many pros use this. The video on this totally shook the movie making world. There was even an episode of House filmed entirely with it. This is definitely an awesome deal!
awesome deal ... but ... I heard the Mark III is coming out next year ... check out this website: http://www.canonrumors.com/
they're expecting for the Mark III to come out in Feb 2012, and once it does, the mark II will drop significantly. Or I can even find a nice used one for around 1500 or less.
JEEEEEZAS! who needs 21MegaPixels....?!

This is a semi-pro full-frame camera. If you're not a pro then you probably don't need this camera.
